Based in Caen, Bulles de Swing performs at wedding cocktail receptions throughout Normandy. From a violin and guitar duo to a quintet, we provide live music at a volume suited to the venue, creating an atmosphere while still allowing your guests to talk comfortably.

• A suitable volume: we adjust the sound level so your guests can talk comfortably while enjoying the music.
• Duo, trio or quartet without drums: the rhythm comes from the guitar accompaniment and, depending on the line-up, the double bass.
• A carefully planned setup: the musicians’ position and equipment are arranged according to your reception space.

The line-up can be chosen according to the atmosphere you want, the available space and the number of guests.
Trio: violin, guitar and double bass
Our usual line-up for wedding cocktail receptions. The violin carries the melodies, the guitar provides the accompaniment and the double bass supports the swing rhythm.
Duo: violin and guitar
The violin is accompanied by the chords and rhythm of the guitar. A compact line-up for smaller receptions or venues with limited space.
Quartet: the trio with an additional solo instrument
A saxophone, clarinet or trumpet joins the trio. This fourth instrument adds new colours to the sound and creates more musical dialogue between the soloists.
Quintet and swing dancers
The quartet is expanded with drums to form a quintet. A pair of swing dancers can also join us for a demonstration and introductory swing dance session, provided there is suitable space for dancing.

How long should we plan for the performance?
The duration and any breaks are agreed with you during the preparation of the event. The schedule takes into account the couple’s arrival, catering service and any speeches.
What is required for an outdoor performance?
We need a location protected from rain and direct sunlight, as well as a suitable backup option in case of bad weather. Space, access and electrical requirements are confirmed with you before the performance.
Do we need to provide a sound system?
This depends on the layout of the venue and the area that needs to be covered. We have our own sound equipment and will agree the setup requirements with you in advance.
Can you perform at both the ceremony and the cocktail reception?
