Bulles de Swing provides live jazz for private events with musicians based in Caen. Our repertoire combines swing, Gypsy jazz, French songs and themes from films and video games. From duo to quintet, we help you choose the line-up and musical atmosphere: background music for conversations during drinks, a private concert at home or a dedicated moment for dancing.

Our live music options
The best option depends on the atmosphere you want, the available space, the number of guests and your budget.
• Duo: violin and guitar
A compact line-up for smaller receptions. The violin carries the melodies, accompanied by the chords and rhythm of the guitar.
• Trio: violin, guitar and double bass
The double bass adds depth and supports the pulse. This is our usual trio line-up, suitable for drinks, dinner or a swing concert.
• Quartet: the trio with an additional soloist
A saxophone, clarinet or trumpet joins the trio. This fourth musician adds another tone colour and creates musical exchanges with the violin. The instrument is chosen according to the event.
• Quintet and swing dancers
The quintet adds drums to the quartet. For a reception with a dedicated dancing period, a pair of swing dancers can join the five musicians for a demonstration and introductory dance session. The exact format is agreed while planning your event.

We can mix different styles or focus on one particular musical colour for your event.

Planning your private event
• Your event: tell us the date, venue, number of guests and the moments you would like us to accompany with music.
• Our proposal: we define the line-up, schedule, musical sets and breaks, then prepare your quote.
• Setup: we plan access, the required performance space, sound equipment and electrical requirements with you.
• Running order: we agree on the musical sets and any breaks needed for speeches, the cake or a surprise.
Musicians in Caen and throughout Normandy
Based in Caen, we travel for private events throughout Calvados and the rest of Normandy, including Bayeux, Cabourg, Deauville, Trouville, Honfleur, Lisieux, Saint-Lô and Alençon. We perform both in private homes and at reception venues and estates. Events outside Normandy can also be considered depending on the project.

• How long does the performance last?
The duration depends on the parts of the event you would like us to accompany: drinks, dinner, concert or dancing. Playing time and breaks are agreed before the event.
• Can you perform outdoors?
Yes, provided the location protects the musicians, instruments and equipment. For a garden or terrace, we plan a suitable covered area or an indoor backup option with you.
• Can guests still talk comfortably while you play?
We adapt the volume to the intended use and the acoustics of the venue. The duo and drumless trio are particularly suitable for accompanying conversations. For the quintet with drums, we assess the position and sound level according to the available space.
